The work-order ground rules
Terms and
Booking Policy.
How we quote work, what we will and will not sign off on, how we handle confidential engagements, and what happens if something gets disputed. Plain English where we can manage it.
§ 1Scope of work
What we publish on this site and what we send you in a quote are estimates of the work we expect to perform, not guarantees of what we will find inside an airplane. Airworthiness determinations are made on inspection, by an FAA A&P with Inspection Authorization. If something comes up that changes the scope, you hear about it the day we see it, before we do additional work.
We are an independent maintenance shop operating under FAR Part 43. Our authorizations and approvals are listed on the homepage and are publicly verifiable.
§ 2Pricing
- Prices quoted by phone or in writing are estimates. A firm written quote is available on request, scoped to the work order.
- Parts are passed through at our cost plus a documented handling rate. Itemized on the invoice.
- Labor is billed at the shop rate in effect when the work is performed.
- Quotes are good for 30 days from the date issued, unless we say otherwise in writing.
- Out-of-scope work found during an inspection is approved by you before we proceed, in writing or by recorded call.
§ 3Liability and insurance
All services are performed in accordance with FAR Part 43 and the applicable manufacturer maintenance manuals. Your aircraft insurance must remain in force while your aircraft is in our care, including during ground movement and ramp work. We carry hangar-keepers and premises insurance appropriate for the work we perform. Certificates of insurance are available on request.
We do not assume responsibility for pre-existing conditions, latent defects, or damage that pre-dates our work order. Discrepancies discovered on inspection are documented and reported to you.
§ 4Confidential engagements
A meaningful share of our work is for clients who require discretion: aerial cinema crews, federal contract operators, and private owners who do not want their aircraft, schedules, or visits made public. We are NDA-ready, comfortable with controlled-access hangars, and our team is trained not to discuss client work outside the shop. If discretion matters on your job, say so on the work order and we will handle it accordingly.
§ 5Storage and abandoned aircraft
Invoices are due on completion of work, before the aircraft leaves our hangar. Aircraft left on the field after written notice of completed work may be subject to daily storage at the rate published at the time, plus any FBO ramp or tie-down fees we are charged on your behalf. Florida statutory mechanic's lien rights are reserved for unpaid work.
§ 6Disputes
If you have a problem with our work, the fastest path to a resolution is to call (941) 375-9727 and tell us. We have settled almost every disagreement we have ever had over the phone, the same day.
If a formal dispute cannot be resolved that way, these terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Venue lies in the state courts located in Sarasota County, Florida.
§ 7Updates to these terms
We may update this page. The version in force at the time you opened the work order is the one that governs that job. The current version is always at this URL.
